How Grow-LEDs are made: SANlight Factory
- 1. A scientific approach to growing
- 2. Conversations and collaboration
After Cultiva Hanfexpo in October, Sebastian left Vienna to embark on a journey across Austria to visit the SANlight factory and their world-class facilities on the other end of the country.
SANlight is renowned for manufacturing premium grow LEDs entirely in Europe, with production based in Austria. This visit wasn’t just a casual tour—it was an opportunity to deepen collaboration, exchange knowledge, and showcase the possibilities that arise when cutting-edge lighting meets top-tier autoflowering genetics.
The team at SANlight invited Sebastian, wanting to share their innovations with the Fast Buds community and beyond. They also had a special request: Sebastian brought along some of our autoflowering seeds, which SANlight will be testing in their state-of-the-art labs. The goal? To demonstrate to German growers what’s possible in a legal home-grow setup following the recent cannabis legalization in neighboring Germany.
A Scientific Approach to Growing
SANlight’s facilities are a marvel of modern cultivation science. They boast two identical laboratories, carefully designed to test the same strains under varying conditions. By altering factors like light spectrum, CO2 levels, and other environmental variables, they can analyze the impact of each on plant growth and yield. This dual-lab setup is one of the most advanced in Austria, especially given SANlight’s rare legal license to grow cannabis in the country.
The SANlight team plans to lab-test our autoflowering strains grown under their lights, analyzing yields for terpene profiles and THC levels. These results will be made public to help growers understand what’s achievable with premium LEDs and superior autoflowering genetics.
Conversations and Collaboration
Sebastian’s visit wasn’t just about observing; it was about sharing knowledge. In an interview with a SANlight representative, Sebastian dove deep into the advancements and potential of modern autoflowers. SANlight will soon release this interview, offering insights into why autoflowers have become a game-changer for growers worldwide.
In turn, Sebastian documented the SANlight factory and its processes, giving viewers an inside look at how these premium LEDs are made. The video in this article highlights the company’s dedication to environmental sustainability, innovative solutions for German cannabis social clubs, and their ongoing efforts to refine grow lighting technology.
Don’t miss the video above for a full tour of SANlight’s facilities, a detailed breakdown of their LED production process, and a glimpse into the future of growing.
Stay tuned for the release of SANlight’s test results and interviews, and get ready to see what happens when two leaders in their fields come together to push boundaries in cannabis
