Everything started with Strawberry Pie Auto, one of our oldest and most successful breeding projects. In many ways, Strawberry Pie became the foundation for almost every Strawberry line we've released since.
During one of the breeding cycles, something unexpected happened. A small number of plants began expressing a completely different terpene profile from the rest of the population. They still looked like they belonged to the same family, but the aroma immediately stood out.
At first, we couldn't quite describe it.
It clearly wasn't the typical sweet strawberry profile we were expecting. The more we smelled it, the more familiar it became, until eventually someone in the breeding room said exactly what everyone else was thinking.
"It smells like Cherry Cola."
The name stuck almost immediately.
