Fast Buds Lineages Explained

You’ve been asking for it, and we listened: We’re excited to announce that we’ve now published the genetic lineages of our strains! You can find them directly in the Tech Specs section on each strain page, along with the type of seed used in its development.

Transparency has always been part of our mission, and we want you to know exactly what goes into the genetics you grow and love. Here’s a quick guide to understanding the seed types you’ll now see listed across our catalog.

RF3: The Newest Addition to Our Catalog

The RF3 line marks the next level of Fast Buds breeding. It stands for Reversed F3, a process in which a reversed (feminized) parent is crossed back into the line multiple times to lock in the most desirable traits such as color, structure, and terpene expression. The result is unmatched stability, improved consistency, and refined phenotypes that deliver top performance across all grow setups.

F4 and F5 Auto: Proven Stability Through Generations

Our F4 and F5 autoflowers come from carefully selected feminized photoperiods, refined through several generations using a traditional selection process. With each generation, we strengthen the genetic stability and ensure consistent growth, yield, and quality across every seed. This is where reliability meets performance.

Polyhybrid: Breeding at Its Best

A polyhybrid starts when we take two established hybrids and cross them to create a new F1 generation, produced in small, experimental batches purely for breeding purposes. From there, we move to an F2 polyhybrid, selecting only the most promising phenotypes to develop into F3, which is then stabilized and produced in larger, commercial batches. This multi-step process ensures every strain combines the best traits from its hybrid ancestors.

3-Way Polyhybrid Autoflower: Expanding the Gene Pool

To push boundaries even further, we create 3-way polyhybrids by taking the best-performing F1 polyhybrids and introducing another hybrid into the mix. Through careful selection and stabilization, we refine this combination up to the F3 stage. The result are autoflowers designed for maximum potential, with complex genetics, vibrant terpene profile, and enhanced vigor.

Pheno Lock: Preserving the Extraordinary

Every once in a while, a truly exceptional phenotype appears. Something with a rare color, unique flavor, or an extraordinary expression that stands out from the rest. When that happens, we isolate and stabilize it through our Pheno Lock process. This ensures those special characteristics aren’t lost, making them repeatable and consistent in every seed batch.

I have noticed the increased information on FB strain genetics. Thank you. Some strains still read general genetic information. For example.: Super Boof. And some are missing. Will you complete the new genetic information on all your products? Past, present and future?
