Original Amnesia Breeding Project Enters Key Selection Phase

A  breeding project focused on refining the classic Original Amnesia strain has entered a key selection phase, with breeders narrowing down plant populations to isolate desirable traits.

Inside a controlled indoor grow facility, researchers began the latest run with 127 plants, each representing variations within the genetic population. Through a systematic selection process, breeders removed individuals that did not match the target profile, reducing the group to 47 remaining plants.

The project aims to develop a taller, highly productive plant with a clearly sativa-leaning leaf structure, traits associated with the original Amnesia lineage. By eliminating more than 60% of the population, the team is focusing only on plants that best express the desired characteristics.

This type of phenotype hunting is a common strategy in cannabis breeding, where large populations are cultivated and gradually narrowed down over successive generations.

The next generation is expected to show more consistent plant structure and a faster finishing time, signaling progress toward stabilizing the improved Amnesia line.
